‘General Hospital’ Actor Johnny Wactor Shot Dead During Robbery

Johnny Wactor, a talented actor known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular soap opera “General Hospital,” tragically lost his life in a suspected robbery attempt in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning. The 37-year-old actor was shot and killed after confronting three suspects who were attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car.

According to reports, Wactor and one of his friends witnessed the suspects trying to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle around 3.25 a.m. near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. When Wactor confronted the suspects, they turned around and shot him. The actor was pronounced at a local hospital shortly after 3.00 AM.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made as of yet. Details about the suspects have been kept under wraps.

Wactor’s talent agent David Shaul, released a heartfelt statement to Variety, describing the actor as “a spectacular human being” who was not only talented but also a moral example to everyone who knew him. Shaul praised Wactor’s hard work, tenacity, and never-give-up attitude, even in the face of challenges in his profession.

The actor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, told TMZ that her son did not fight back when confronting the suspects, but was still shot. Wactor leaves behind his mother and two younger siblings.

Johnny Wactor’s acting career spanned over a decade, with his breakthrough role coming in the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.” From 2020 to 2022, he appeared in 164 episodes as Brando Corbin, the son of Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson).

Before his role on “General Hospital,” Wactor had guest appearances on shows like “Army Wives,” “Westworld,” “The OA,” “Station 19,” ” Siberia,” and Criminal Minds.” He also appeared in several short films, including “The Grass is Never Greener,” “GoldenBox,” and “The Con-Artist.”
