West Bengal HS Result 2024: A Milestone in Education

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is set to announce the much-awaited Class 12 (HS) results on May 8, 2024. This significant event marks a crucial milestone in the educational journey of thousands of students in the state. The results will be declared through a press conference at 1 pm, followed by the activation of the result link on the official website.

Previous Year’s Performance

In the previous year, the WB HS exams recorded an impressive overall passing percentage of 89.25 percent, with a total of 7,37,807 students passing. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the students, as well as the efforts of the education system in the state.

Toppers and Statistics

The WBCHSE will also release the WB HS result 2024 toppers’ name list along with the marks/percentage secured by them. This year’s toppers will be recognized for their outstanding academic performance, which will serve as an inspiration to their peers. The statistics of the previous year’s results provide a glimpse into the performance of the students, with boys and girls showing varying levels of success. For instance, in 2023, 90.19 percent of boys and 86.58 percent of girls passed the exams.

WB Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is: 

  1. An autonomous examining authority in India responsible for conducting the West Bengal Higher Secountry (Class 12) Examinations each year
  2. It came into existence in 1975 and is responsible for the improvement and promotion of education in the state of West Bengal.
  3. The WBCHSE conducts the Class 12 exam for both government and private schools affiliated with the board. Over 8 lakh students appear for these exams across the state each year.
  4. The WBCHSE is headquartered at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata. The current president of the council is Dr. Chiranjib Battacharya.
  5. In addition to conducting the Class 12 exams, the WBCHSE is also responsible for declaring the West Bengal HS results, issuing mark sheets and pass certificates, and providing a platform for students to apply for post-publication scrutiny and review.
