Two Injured in Chikhali Firing Incident, Police Launch Investigation

In a shocking turn of events, two individuals were injured in an incident of firing that took place in the Chikhali area of Pune, Maharashtra on Tuesday evening. The victims, identified as Rahul Patil (32) and Seema Sharma (28), were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.

Police were promptly alerted about the incident and a team from the Chikhali police station rushed to the spot. The injured individual was given first aid at the scene before being shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri.

“The condition of both the victims is stable as of now,” said Dr. Neha Sharma, a spokesperson for the hospital. “Rahul Patil has sustained a bullet wound in his abdomen while Seema has been hit in the shoulder. They are under close observation and further treatment is underway.”

Motive Behind the Attack Unclear

The Chikhali police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. A team led by Senior Police Inspector Rajesh Patil has been formed to investigate the matter. Read more

“We are exploring all possible angles to ascertain the motive behind this attack,” said Patil. “The victims are being questioned to gather more information. We have also launched a manhunt for the unidentified assailant.”

Initial investigations suggest that the attack could be a result of personal enmity or a fallout of some local dispute. However, the police are not ruling out any other angle at this stage.

“It’s too early to comment on the motive,” added Patil. “We are collecting CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprit. Forensic teams have also been called in to gather evidence from the crime scene.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Chikkhali community, with many expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the area. The Chikhli police have assured the locals that the investigation will be conducted in a fair and time-bound manner. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
